Enter Livestock Purchase

Introducing livestock into your MaiaGrazing account can be done by doing a livestock purchases.

This article explains how to purchase livestock onto your property

Entering a livestock purchase

  • Click on the 'Operations' tab. (1.)

  • Click on 'Livestock' from the left hand menu (2.)

  • Click on 'Purchase Livestock'  (3. or 4.)

     

  • Click on the date box. (1) & Enter the date of the purchase.

  • Click on the name box. (2) & Enter a name for this mob/herd.

  • Click on the box under 'invoice number'. (3) & Enter the invoice number associated with this purchase

  • Click on the box under 'location'. (4) & Enter either the physical location or the property identification number.

  • Click on the box under 'Seller's Business Ref'. (5) & Enter information.

  • Click on the drop-down list under paddock/pasture (6) & Select the set of yards where the animals will be when they first come onto the property.

     

Note: the animals must "land" into the yards when first being entered into MaiaGrazing. After you have completed the Livestock Purchase you will be able to "move" the animals into a paddock.

  • Click on the drop down to select a stock group for the purchased animals (7)

If the stock group you want is not available it will need to be setup in the setting dashboard. See: Creating a new stock group.

  • Click into the data entry box under under 'Stock Description'. (8) & Type over 'Stock Item 1.' with the label for these animals.*

  • Click on the data entry box under 'Head'. (a) & Type the number of head from this stock group to be added to this herd/mob.

  • Click on the data entry box under 'Weight'. (b) & Type in the average weight of these animals.

  • Click on the data entry box under 'Rating'. (c) & Type in the average feed demand rating (kg.dm/head, lb.dm/head, AU, LSU, DSE) of these animals.

  • Click on EITHER the data entry box under 'value/kg' OR the data entry box under 'value/head'.(d) & Type in EITHER the average value per kilo OR the average value per head.**

  • Click on the dropdown under 'Add' if you want to add more stock to this purchase. (7)

  • Click on 'Next' when all animals have been entered for this mob/herd. 

 

  • Wait for the confirmation screen to open.  

 

  • Click on 'Save' to record the purchase.
