Combine Stock Items - How to use

How to combine similar stock items within a stock class together for ease of management and updating

The Combine Feature is currently a BETA Feature, which means you must contact the MaiaGrazing Support team to get it activated for your Maia Account. The activation process includes a short training session demonstrate how to use the feature correctly.

The combine feature allow you to merge similar stock items into one stock item for ease of management.

Example: Before combine - 30 head of calves and 3 separate stock items

Example: After combine - 30 head of calves and 1 single stock item.

How to use the combine feature

BEFORE you combine stock items:

  • access your mob/herd flow and ensure that all stock admin (splits, merges, sales etc.) are up to date.

  • ensure that there are no entries for that stock item that are AFTER the date that you intend to combine the stock items.

  • ensure that all stock items you wish to combine are up to date with their number of head, rating, weight and value.

If they are not up to date, please make those changes before proceeding with the steps below.

To combine stock items:

  • Click on the Mob/Herd from the Mob/Herd List to open the Mob/Herd Management screen.
  • Change the date to the date on which you wish to implement the combine. Ideally do not back date unless you are very confident that doing so will not conflict with existing data.

  • Scroll down until you see the stock items you wish to combine.

  • Hover your mouse pointer over the ellipses beside the stock item that you want the other stock items to be rolled up into.

The weight and rating of this chosen stock item will become the weight and rating of the combined stock item.

  • Click on 'Combine'.

  • Click on 1 or more stock items to combine them with the selected stock item. Selected stock items will become highlighted.

  • Click on 'Next'

  • Click on the dropdown box under label.

  • Click on the label to use for the new stock item.

  • Click on 'DONE' at the bottom of the screen.

  • The combined stock items will now show in your Mob Management screen as 1 stock item.
